This Kent State University endowed scholarship fund was established in memory of Dylan Fitzgerald Carlton in 2006. It was established by the Kent chapter of the Delta Upsilon fraternity in cooperation with Donna Carlton.

The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving Kent State student who demonstrates exemplary leadership and community service. The student does not need to be a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity to receive the scholarship.

Scholarship distribution will be used to encourage students who have demonstrated not only the motivation to reach their educational and professional goals but also the capacity to achieve those goals and the initiative to seek opportunities that will further their progress.

Scholarship recipients will be selected on the following basis:

• A KSU student enrolled full-time at the Kent campus
• The student should have a minimum GPA of 2.5. If the applicant is an incoming freshman, the student should have an ACT score of at least 21 or an SAT score of at least 980.
• Preference will be given to sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
• Preference will be given to students who demonstrate active participation in leadership and extracurricular activities such as community service, clubs, and sports.
• The scholarship can be used for unrestricted purposes.
• The scholarship will assist one student per year and each year a new student will be selected.
